Successful Cancer Screening Camp for Women on 11th May 2026
GSBS Medical Trust once again organised its monthly Cancer Detection Camp on 11th May 2026. Continuing the encouraging response received in previous camps, all 24 registration slots were filled well in advance. Patients seeking appointments are now being requested to register for the July 2026 camp. This camp was conducted towards the Women’s Cancer screening, particularly the detection of breast cancer, cervical cancer and oral cancer.
To ensure smooth functioning and convenience for both patients and doctors, appointment slips were issued beforehand. This systematic arrangement helped eliminate long waiting hours and ensured an efficient flow throughout the camp.
Immediately after registration, patients underwent oral cancer screening. The dental examinations were conducted by:
- Dr. Shalini Rupnarayan
- Dr. Dhurvi Sanghvi
- Dr. Gauri Nayak
- Dr. Pratik Satpute
The women patients were then attended for cervical cancer screening by an experienced team of gynaecologists:
- Dr. Minni Sanghaneria
- Dr. Gitanjali Belekar
- Dr. Bhagyashree A
- Dr. Babita Patke
Mammography screening formed an important part of the health check-up. The tests were carried out by trained technicians, while the mammography readings were interpreted by Sonologist Dr. Ritesh Dalvi.
The camp commenced at 8:30 a.m. and concluded efficiently before 4:00 p.m.
As part of the Trust’s annual healthcare initiatives, this month’s Cancer Detection Camp was generously sponsored by Dr. Niranjani Nayak and Sri Vishwanath Acharya, children of Late Smt. Kamalakshi Acharya and Late Shri Janardhan Acharya, in loving memory of their parents.
GSBS Medical Trust was especially pleased to welcome Smt. (Dr.) Niranjani Nayak, who not only sponsored the camp but also took time to personally visit the centre, interact with the doctors, patients, and staff members, and appreciate their dedicated efforts.
Smt. Gita R. Pai, Trustee of GSBS Medical Trust, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nayak and her brother for their continued generosity and repeated support towards this noble initiative.
The Trust is happy to report that no positive cancer cases were detected during this camp. More importantly, the awareness created among patients regarding breast cancer and early detection was highly appreciated by all attendees.
