This month’s Cancer detection camp for women was held on Monday the 23rd of September. These camps are held for women above 45 years of age every alternate month for the screening of breast cancer, cervical cancer and oral cancer.

The appointments for all the 24 patients were given in advance according to their convenience. Working ladies generally prefer to get the appointment as early as 8.30 in the morning, so that they can reach their offices on time. After completing all the four stages of checkups, the last patient generally completes by 4 evening. Each patient has to pass through multiple stages of examination:

• The oral checkup which is very important for the patients, was done by dentists themselves.
• Gynaecological checkup for cervical cancer.
• Pap smear
• Mammography

Mammography and Pap smear results get ready within 3 days.
The Physicians will keep their reports ready within 5 days. The patients are given the report of this check-up. In case there are some doubts in the results, the patients are called and a Sonography is taken at the cost of the Medical Trust.

The patients are kept comfortable all throughout. Slideshows on the running TV screen are shown to educate the patients. Frequently asked questions are put up and answers are also given.

meeting Smt. Jaya Chhabra and Smt. & Sri. Sudha Madhav Kelkar who could respond to our request to
be present when the camp was going on.. They were happy to meet some of the patients. The doctors who attended the patients were the patients were:
