Successful Cancer Screening Camp for Women on 12th January 2026
Awareness about breast cancer and women’s health is steadily increasing, encouraging more women to come forward for preventive check-ups and make enquiries about early detection. Reflecting this positive trend, a Breast, Oral and Cervical Cancer Screening Camp was successfully conducted on Monday, 12th January, 2026. This camp is conducted regularly by the GSBS Medical Trust.
To ensure personalised care and high-quality screening, each camp is limited to 24 participants. Due to the growing response, registrations often exceed this number, and additional applicants are courteously guided to enroll in subsequent camps. This overwhelming participation highlights the increasing trust and awareness among women.
The eight-hour camp is meticulously planned and efficiently managed by the centre’s dedicated staff. Appointments are scheduled well in advance, allowing participants to choose time slots that suit their convenience. Women travel from distant locations such as Bhayandar, Panvel and Boisar, while working professionals attend early morning appointments, some as early as 8:00 a.m., and proceed to their workplaces without disruption to their daily routines.
The screening process begins with registration and an oral examination, followed by a Pap smear test conducted by a gynaecologist for the early detection of cervical cancer. During this session, patients receive detailed guidance and have their questions addressed with care and clarity. Mammography is conducted thereafter, and X-rays are advised when clinically necessary.
The dental check up was done by Dr. Shalini Rupnarayan, Dr. Swati Satpute, Dr. Pratik Satpute & Dr. Amey Pai.
Next stage was to meet the Gynaecologist for cervical cancer. Dr. Nutan Pai, Bhagyashree A and Dr. Babita Patke did this check up and patiently answered all the queries by the patients. Mammography on each patient is a time consuming one and technicians have the skill to conduct this. The Sonologists Dr. Gauri Amonkar & Dr. Ritesh Dalvi did the reading and the results were given to the patients.
Participants expressed high levels of satisfaction with compassionate care, professionalism and smooth coordination experienced throughout the camp.
The Trust extends its heartfelt gratitude to its generous sponsors and supporters, whose continued encouragement and contributions make these vital awareness and screening camps possible.
