For the past five years, GSBS Medical Trust has been holding Cancer Camps for ladies above the age of 40 years, at its Health Rakshak unit, towards the detection & awareness of Breast Cancer, Oral Cancer and Cervical Cancer. Though started as an awareness camp, the demand is such that almost every month, detection camps are being held for Women / Men. The 26th such camp for women was held on 13th May 2024.

Each female patient has to undergo four stages starting with Dental check up for Oral Cancer. The doctors who attended to this were Dr. Shalini Rupnarayan, Dr. Swati Satpute & Dr. Ankit Kamat . For Gynaecology check up, Pap smear test was done by Dr. Gitanjali Belekar. Dr. Deepali Prabhat, Dr. Shonir Pai, and Dr. Mira Naik thereafter did the Mammography for Breast Cancer.

Slides were shown to all patients. The attending doctors answered all their queries. On the whole, this camp was a friendly one. Smt. Gita Pai gave special thanks to Dr. Niranjani Nayak & her brother Vishwanth Acharya for sponsoring this camp in the name of their late parents Smt. Kamakshi & Sri. Janardhan Acharya. Dr. Niranjani Nayak very much appreciated the work taken up by the Medical Trust.
