PCOS Workshop – Women’s Day 2024
GSBS Medical Trust had organised an interesting talk on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) on the 8th of March, World Women’s Day. Dr Shilpa Abhyankar , Gynaecologist, was invited and she explained in detail about what PCOS is, its causes, symptoms and more. According to her, 1 out of 10 females are suffering from this Syndrome. The management of it is easy, but the patient has to understand what this syndrome is and consult the gynaecologist at the earliest.
Dr. Abhyankar explained in simple language each and every step in understanding the disease. She demonstrated examples through slides on the screen. The four visible symptoms a patient shows is weight gain, hair loss (male pattern), acne showing on the face, irregular period cycles.
