GSBS Medical Trust held its 5th Cancer Camp for Men at the Health Rakshak Centre on 10th June, 2023. The men’s cancer camp is aimed towards the detection & awareness of Prostrate Cancer, Lung Cancer and Oral Cancer. The Trustees of GSBS Medical Trust were enthused to conduct this activity of Cancer Detection and though men were equally enthusiastic to participate, the timings had been inconvenient for them in the past. So this month’s Cancer detection Camp was held on a Saturday i.e. the second Saturday of the month (10th June), and that did the magic! This camp had 23 registrations.

The men have to undergo four different stages of check-ups for cancer detection. Blood collection for PSA is the first stage and then the Chest X-Ray is done. This is followed by the ENT doctor’s check up.  In case of doubts, the doctor sends the patient for further investigation. Finally, the patient meets the Surgeon and clears all doubts. It was a continuous interaction between the doctor and patients.

Gita R Pai, Trustee of GSBS Medical Trust welcomed the patients and thanked Surgeon Dr. Jitendra Sakhrani, Dr. Snehal Shah (ENT Oncologist), Dr. Ritesh Dalvi (Radiologist) for analysing the X-Ray reports.
