GSBS Medical Trust Observes World Diabetes Day

GSBS Medical Trust proudly marked World Medical Days by observing World Diabetes Day on 14th November, highlighting one of the most widespread lifestyle-related health conditions affecting people across all age groups.

Speaking on the occasion, the Trust’s Endocrinologist and Diabetologist Dr. Minal Meshram explained that diabetes is often influenced by lifestyle choices and in some cases, family history. However, she emphasised that with careful and disciplined lifestyle management, diabetes can be prevented or effectively controlled. Dr. Meshram shared simple yet powerful preventive measures, noting that many patients find them challenging to follow. “The biggest difficulty lies in resisting unhealthy food cravings,” she said. She stressed that regular daily exercise and strict dietary control are essential. Without these, patients may have to depend on lifelong medication. She also cautioned that prolonged use of diabetes medication can gradually affect the normal functioning of various organs.

Adding to the discussion, Dr. Sandhya Kamath, Trustee of GSBS Medical Trust, shared additional insights and expressed her appreciation to Dr. Meshram for her informative and practical talk.

The program concluded with Smt. Gita Pai thanking the audience for their enthusiastic participation, reflected in the many thoughtful questions raised during the session.
