January is Cervical Cancer Awareness month.

The only type of cancer for which a vaccine has been available for the past 17 years is cervical cancer. And yet, on an average, the number of women diagnosed with cervical cancer in India is 96,922, as per the HPV Information Centre. This is why we need more awareness of cervical cancer. 

Besides vaccination, one can also get educated, screened for, visit the doctor when one sees signs such as post menopausal bleeding or any such abnormalities. GSBS Medical Trust conducts regular screening & awareness camps for Women above 40 years of age for breast cancer, cervical cancer and oral cancer.
