GSBS Medical Trust has resumed its tobacco cessation programmes in schools & colleges. This awareness camp was conducted at D.B. Kulkarni Vidyalay (Dadar East) on 3rd October 2023 at the school premises. A total of 75 students attended this session.

The students were briefed by Dr. Chhavi Korrane (Consultant Paedodontist at GSBS Medical Trust) on the ill-effects of tobacco consumed in different forms. Major causes of Cancer (different types viz. Throat, Larynx, Oesophagus, Lungs etc.) being tobacco products like Cigarettes, Paan/Gutkha, Khaini were screened on an LCD projector, with photos for a clear understanding of the ill-effects. After the presentation was over, there was a question & answer session.

Overall, this program was a success. We are thankful to the school principal and teachers for giving us the opportunity to conduct this programme.
