2D Echo - GSBS Medical Trust Mumbai
This test is also called as echocardiography or diagnostic cardiac ultrasound. An echo uses sound waves to create pictures of your heart’s chambers, valves, walls and the blood vessels (aorta, arteries, veins) attached to your heart.
When is it done?
A cardiologist may recommend this test to you if you are having diseases related to the heart valve, congenital heart diseases, blood clots or tumors.
A probe called a transducer which transmits ultrasound waves is put over your chest on different location. This may produce harmless irritation in some people.
